SECTTRA is a joint program of the Department of Computer Science
and Engineering (CSE) and the Center for Transportation Studies
(CTS) at the University of Minnesota. In addition to CSE and CTS,
SECTTRA is affiliated with other transportation and security research
groups.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering
The University of Minnesota’s Computer Science and Engineering
Department is among the top CS departments in the country, with
a faculty including leaders in a wide range of sub-disciplines.
The department receives funding from major agencies including the
US Department of Transportation, the National Science Foundation,
the US Army, and NASA.
Center for Transportation Studies
CTS is a catalyst for transportation innovation through research,
education, and outreach. Since its establishment in 1987, CTS
has worked with University faculty and researchers in a wide
range of academic disciplines to advance transportation research.
Affiliated programs
Intelligent Transportation Systems Institute
The Intelligent Transportation Systems Institute is a federally
funded University Transportation Center housed within the Center
for Transportation Studies. The ITS Institute works to enhance
the safety and mobility of road- and transit-based transportation
through a focus on human-centered technology.
Safety Security Rescue Research Center
The SSR-RC is a cooperative venture between universities, government
agencies, and leading technology and defense companies working
on collaborative research in the fields of homeland security
and emergency response.
